For too long, swimwear forced us to choose between two rigid extremes: concealment or exposure. Trunks or tiny bikinis. There was no space for the in-between.

I realized I wasn't alone in feeling excluded. I received hundreds of messages from queer people who had simply stopped going to the beach. But the problem went further: cis men wanting to rock a bikini, or cis women with anatomical diversity feeling exposed in standard cuts.

The industry was designing for labels. I wanted to design for bodies. I wanted to create something that allowed us to exist unapologetically and move freely, in and out of the water.
